Can you post internships on craigslist

Does anyone do "Summer Jobs" anymore for "kids"? There are a couple of places in my area but they're mostly restaurants, grocery stores, and ice cream stands.

So what makes this intern? Typically interns are those that are learning or new. Do you want this class of person, or are you just looking for a warm body. You can post a short term position and then list the stuff you want. There may be some older folks that might like to take on the job, have more experience and might enjoy the short position. I think you need to pin down what you want. Usually the term Intern means that the person appointed to the position receives little or no pay with the experience they gain being considered the compensation.

Are you sure that is what you really want to advertise? Respectfully, I would disagree. Traditionally, interns are students looking to get some real world experience in the field they are pursuing in school. Not some random person looking to move from hair dressing or something to another unrelated field. But hell, give me De Niro for the summer, I'll take him.

A few jobs back we did this during the summers. It was a car dealership so during the summer there would be tons of sales going on at strange places. We figured if you wanted to know what the bad side of IT was this would be it.

Setting up old Dell computers in degree temps. But the part you want to know was how we found people. This let us pass on what we needed to the instructor and he could pass the job offer over to people he thought could handle the job. We didn't get a super ton of hits but it wasn't bad. When you had a lead come in from the instructor it normally meant the person would tick all the right boxes. You might not have a group that meets, but if you got in contact with the instructors at the colleges around you they would be able to help I am sure.

Thanks for the reply. I am hoping for some better results through the college at the fall semester since i just got in contact with the dept.
