Lib Tech skis have announced a new set of skis for the model year. Indeed, this …. This genius named Sharrief Fareed has built an incredibly slick and truly unbelievable camper setup for his Ford F Sharrief really ….
This is truly the stuff nightmares are made of. Hey guys! Thanks for the nice review. I would like to ask you, which size of the atomic bent chetler you think would be the right one for me.
I am cm tall and weigh around 62 kg. I am an advanced skiier i would say, however i always skied short slalom skies till today. And now i would really like to get the bent chetler, but which size? Is cm to long? Is it fun around the trees with the cm version for me?
Thanks in advance! The Bent Chetler is relatively light and uses fairly long rocker. It also has somewhat of a softer flex pattern. Because of that, I think you should actually go with the cm. Thank you very much! That really helped. One last question: Is a pivot 14 binding a good one for this ski? One of the highlights of the Pivot is the amount of elastic travel in the heel.
That and the area where the screws go is relatively small, so it allows for a nice natural flex of the ski. Thanks for the review! Just wondering how the Bent Chetler s compare to the Soul 7s? One of the major differences is the Bent Chetler is a twin tip, where the Soul 7 is a directional ski. So, if you have any kind of freestyle or freeski background or like to spin, butter, etc, the Bent Chetler is the way to go. On the other hand, if you are a directional skier never ski backwards , you could argue the Soul is more appropriate.
Both are quite lightweight, both are very playful, the difference is really in the shape. The Soul is also a little more responsive as it works in quite a bit of carbon in its construction these days. How does the BC compare to the Bacon ? Thanks in advance. The flex pattern of the Bent Chetler is quite soft. Because of that and its rocker profile, you can justify longer lengths fairly easily.
Slightly different shape between the two, but fairly similar in terms of how demanding they are. Any advice? The Bent Chetler is more focused on soft snow playfulness than its performance in the park or on the groomers, and especially the groomers. The Poacher and ARV 96 are going to feel a little more stout, which helps on firm snow.
How does the Ski feel on normal Piste firm Snow, ice? Would you recommend it useing this Ski for People who only want to buy one Ski to Ride the whole mountain? The highlight of the Bent Chetler is its maneuverability, playfulness, and soft snow performance. So, if that sounds like you, go for it! I expect it would be a great ski for you as it sounds like you ski all the right terrain: powder, park, etc. That is, unless you prefer skiing shorter skis, in which case cm would be fine.
I am looking to purchase my first pair of skis. The last couple of years I have skied the Armada Tracer 98s at cm and the Blizzard Bonafide s. I would consider myself an advanced skier that spends almost all time in bounds, but skiing whatever challenges the resort has to offer. I have heard great things about the BC, but am wondering if this is a good direction to go, and further whether to bump up to the length?
The Bent Chetler is a really fun ski. Softer flex pattern than the Bonafide, by a fairly significant amount. Love the review gives a solid insight on what to expect from these skis.
Is there anything that could be justified in spending the extra money for the Line skis? I love these skis, can absolutely rip through the park and down groomers, but since moving into the Canadian Rockies these skis struggle when i dip into the trees or hit powder. Which do you believe would be a better fit for me, given I enjoy tree riding, hitting jump in the parks, try to make a kicker out of everything, but yet still ride groomers when i need to?
Hi Ryan! They are light, quick, and super playful. But throughout the last 2 years I started doing small tricks and going off piste a lot.
Would the Bent chetler be a good suit for me? The Bent Chetler is a blast for doing tricks and skiing soft snow.
Fun would be a perfect way to describe it. Where should i mount my Bindings? Hi Martin! My general rule is that if you do not already have a preferred mount point, go with the factory recommended spot. Forward gives you more turning while back gives you more flotation. Trying to figure out which ski may be better overall for powder and groomers, and also figuring out a manageable length.
Hi Rob! That said, they are on the light and flexible side, so be prepared to bend the ski from time to time. You will not find a similar issue with the Rustler, with its metal laminate and carbon tips and tails, it skis a bit stiffer than the BC Hi guys, great review!
Which ones would you recommend? Hi Gregor! The Salomon is great, but has more of an on-trail personality while the BC is more playful and fun-loving. I was wondering if I should mount the Shift on the recommended line or a little more towards the center.
I do care a lot for playfulness and have very rarely deep pow days where I live NW Italy. Will it be easy enough for beginner park riding with traditional mount? Thanks a lot! Being too forward would take away from its powder performance pretty significantly, and also make them feel kinda weird when touring. Being cm tall and 65kg, strong intermediate on groomers and intermediate offpiste, is the appropriate lenght? Again, thanks a lot for all the great content you provide!
Hi Marko! Hey there guys, awesome site and reviews! What would be your opinion on the length i should consider. The cm length should be fun for you. I think cm should be plenty stable for your weight, and will be a whole lot of fun. Hey Guys…Great info here! Hi Christian! Good luck! I am hesitating between bent chetler and qst 99 or Any toughts?
Hi Frank! Of those, the Bent Chetler is the most playful and best suited for tight east coast tree skiing. Hey there, I recently purchased Salomon QST 92s and hated them because I felt as they did not have enough tail rocker because I would constantly catch my tail when trying to smear in softer snow.
I really liked my soul 7s as they were very fun to slash around on and easy to release the turn when I wanted not when the ski wanted. Hi John! The Soul has a stiffer tail, but not by much. The BC is one of the most surfy and playful skis out there even with the camber underfoot.
I liked it as an all-mountain ski, but I can see what you mean about the playfulness. Hi Dimitri! Specifically, are there any big differences when skiing them? Hi JG! The Soul Rider is a bit turnier, that is the shorter turn radius wants to bring you around in a nice round shape. The BC is a bit more turn-at-your-whim style, insofar as you can really put the thing anywhere you want whenever you want. I personally am a huge Soul Rider fan, as I love wood core skis with some good camber underfoot.
Thanks for the nice reviews. Would you help me with the choice of skiing length of Bent Chetler model. I am cm high, 73kg and currently skiing on librerty helix cm. I am hesitating between sm and sm Bent Chetler Would like to mount shift bindings on them and usually ski in trees and narrow places inbounds the resort.
Hi Totti! I was thinking cm, does that sound about right? Hi Curtis! Both great choices. I just skied the the other day and really liked it. According to the site specs, the is the lighter ski, designed for backcountry use. The Bent Chetler is listed as g heavier. Based on my limited knowledge, I think the Bent is meant to be a more stable ski than the Backland as well.
Curtis, I struggled hard between these two skis and ended up going with the Bents as I wanted the one quiver ski. I also plan to use the Tecton bindings. Do you know any women with this ski?
I am looking for a one ski quiver, and want to put touring bindings on the Bent Chesler I figure the touring set up is the gravel bikes of skis. Is this too much of a ski for me? Hi Rachael! Thanks for the review. If you are familiar, are the bc a pretty comproble ski? Hi Bryce! The Atomics have come a long way in 10 years.
The tips and tails of the BC are super fun and playful, while underfoot you get great stability and a ton of snap. I am considering th BC cm with a Shift bindning for some touring.
I am cm 78kg, would the BC , cm be way to short or a great complement to the cm with mm under foot. HI Mikael! OK so here it goes- I learned how to ski last year and bought an Ikon pass as soon as it went on sale last March.
Now I want to upgrade and get something that will float me through the trees, on fresh pow and still fun and versatile for the park. All around in length. Hi Moody! The others are great, but they might be too wide for an every day ski. The skis trickle in over the next few months. Keep your eyes out! Hello skiessential, nice reviews. Between the bc and the enforcer which one has the best floatation in deep snow? How much are the enforcer more stable than the bc?
Hi Eddy! Whereas the Bent Chetler will float and play on the top, the Enforcer prefers to plow through. The Enforcers are considerably more stable than the Bent Chetler, thanks to two full sheets of metal versus the full wood core of the Atomic.
Hi Dan! It's so light, it's a great touring ski, and it skis super well inbounds—for a light ski, but if you're only getting an inbounds ski, get something heavier and damper. Bibby and Kartel come to mind.
Nov 2 PM 4 0. Thanks for the info! I live in washington, and have plenty of backcountry at my fingertips.
Jaybrtn Thanks for the info! It would for sure be lighter and more forgiving than the Backlands Would charge more than the BC but still be more playful than the Backland Either one would be great with the Shift Bindings or Cast system.
Nov 3 AM 2 0. Great, thanks! Nov 3 PM 0 0. Nov 3 PM 1 0. The referenced post has been removed. Yeah, this. You don't need a stupid long ski to have fun. Either of these options will be great. I think even the team line is a bit too far forward but I'm used to a more traditional mount compared to the fairly center mounted line on the Bents.
I'm planning on remounting 1. I'm 5 10 and ski the Atlas', can't imagine going shorter. With the tip and tail rocker I can't imagine how short a chetler would feel in pow.
I'm 5'11" or so, I thought the 's would be too short but I bought em anyway. I love this ski, absolutely no regret about not going bigger. Floats fine, gets back and forth super fast, suprisingly good on the groomers. I like to ski trees and the just seems like it would be a little long.
Get the ski, you'll be blown away. It makes skiing fun in even the shittiest snow. I'd say if in doubt go longer. Got the now and no regrets. Just as easy to ski and almost as playful but a little stiffer in the tail and overall a little more stable. I mounted at team, but would be tempted to mount again at - 1 to - 1.
